Name of Project: “Strengthening of tuberculosis care and prevention, with a focus on case findings activities, in Bangladesh”.

Duration of the Project: This project starts on 01 January 2018 and will be end on 31 December 2020.

Funded by: The project is funded by The Global Fund. BRAC is Principal Recipients and Ashar Alo Society is Sub Recipients.

Activities: The following activities are ongoing under this project:

TB case detection & management related activities:

  1. Sputum test for Presumptive case
  2. Gene X-pert test
  3. TB-HIV Co-infection Management
  4. Social support
  5. Investigation support
  6. Nutrition support

ACSM activities:

  1. Orientation program on TB and HIV
  2. Orientation program on TB and HIV co infection with PLHIV/Caregivers
  3. Orientation program on TB and HIV co infection for Graduate Private Practitioners

Special Event or Day Observation:

  1. Observation of world TB day- 24th March of every year observe world TB day.
  2. Observation of world AIDS day- 1st December of every year observe world AIDS day.

Key project activities include:

1.     Conduct capacity building training and workshops for communities on Intellectual property rights and access to medicines.

2.     Conduct advocacy meetings with stakeholders and concerned partners.

3.     Conduct meetings with community affected by HIV to increase their capacity on access to medicines.
